(B.C. data obtained by Edwin Steinbrecher Singer/Entertainer). SO which planet (or planets) was responsible for poor Elvis' demise? Could it have been Jupiter? Or perhaps the dark and frightening Pluto? What made such a gift to humanity die so young? What makes someone like him become so Famous? Why do people make him into a religion? These are also questions that Astrology can begin to answer. This Web Page is written for people who know a little or a lot about astrology already, and may be almost unintelligible to anyone else. I don't want it to be though, so I have tried my best to explain what I am saying, so that all you Elvis Fans out there can get the inside story.

It is an extremely sensitive and vulnerable Moon, and so close to Saturn, the planet of restriction and control. His mother must have had a very overpowering effect on his emotions, and probably didn't even begin to understand his sensitivity. She would have also been rather emotionally invasive. Whatever else had happened to Elvis during his life (ie even if he never got that guitar at the drug store when he was 8) he would probably have ended up being an alcoholic or drug addict of some sort anyway, after his mother died, because he would find it so difficult to cope with the sudden loss of this solid emotional bond. People with Pisces Moon are very susceptible to drugs, and the worse the rest of their chart is, the more susceptible they become. In a sense it is kind of calming to realise that it was not necesarily the fame and fortune that was his downfall, but that he would have suffered regardless. So, then, what about the fame and fortune? Well this may have been his only blessing, because without it he would still have had a Pisces Moon and been terribly miserable all his life with Pluto opposing his Sun, Mercury and Venus (an overpowering father figure that denied him of his inner and true masculine identity). Jupiter, the God of excess and good fortune, is very strong in Elvis' chart. It is his chart ruler as well as being in tight quintile with Venus. This is undoubtedly where he got all his money (Venus in the 2nd), fame and admiration from. With Jupiter being also very close to the cusp of the 12th house of the collective unconcious, Elvis probably acted like a people magnet from a very early age. Combine this with his sensitive moon and he would be described as an extremely empathic person who was probably very selfless. People often say that fame and fortune killed Elvis, that he was too controlled by Colonel Tom Parker, that he was manipulated by the media and spent too many years doing films when he would rather have done live entertainment. Much of this is supported in his chart, with the Pluto opposing his Sun, Mercury and Venus, as mentioned above, symbolising Colonel Tom, however, Elvis' sensitive moon would have been well suited to the film industry, so I could easily be convinced that he loved acting - however, he may not have pursued the kind of acting he dreamed of, due to his selflessness and lack of ability to assert his inner desires. (This moon was also his singing talent.) The other effect of Jupiter upon Elvis of course was the enormous weight gain. The fact that he died of a heart attack apparently, which was caused by him being overweight and stressed, is very Jupiterian. But here comes the chicken and the egg argument - was it the drugs (pisces moon) that made him overweight in the first place?
As the story slowly unfolds I am beginning to strongly believe that Neptune killed Elvis, and Jupiter was an accomplice! Looking at his secondary progressions at the time of his death I am much more convinced that Neptune took his life, and Jupiter helped by creating some of the circumstances in which his physical body could last no longer. I feel he would have died young, fame or no fame.
To top this all off and really make it all very plain (to me anyway!), transiting Neptune was hovering (at about 13 degrees Sagittarius) on his Natal Ascendent, on August 16th 1977, and his progressed Sun and Saturn reached zero degrees Pisces. The planet Neptune was calling him home. Not only was Elvis' death fairly clearly alluded to by the nature of his transits at the time, but the nature of his afterlife was also beginning to emerge. When Elvis died he started a new life, a new career, he gained a new social status. He became a martyr (Neptune) and a God figure (Jupiter). The next big question is: What will actually happen to Elvis' story in the future. What do the stars have in store for him, and his many followers? What will happen in 12 years time when his progressed Sun moves into Aries? Will the religious fervour stop? Will he be seen more for his strength and sexual energy? Will people start to question their views of him from the past? When his progressed Sun hits Aries he will "be" 72 years old. His Progressed MC (social point in his chart) will be conjunct his Ascendant (another significant social point in his chart) which should be very interesting for being recognised publicly. Aries is the Hero Warrior. I suspect his reputation will evolve away from religious fervour to Hero worship and then in 30 years gradually settle down into good old Taurean tradition, perhaps starting to take root in some form of traditional or structured religion. What I feel now is that even though his progressed Sun in Pisces is obviously contributing highly to the spiritual qualities of his fan club, I don't think he will ever lose the Godliness that he projects, it is natal. It will be interesting to watch the process unfold!
